Synopsis: In 1982, the eruption of a volcano called Chichonal forced the Zoque community to relocate. Filmed over the course of six years, (((((/*\))))) captures the unique atmosphere of the Indigenous group’s Chiapas village. This ethnographic excursion is a feast for the eyes and an auditory journey paced by quaint music and advertisements blaring from shops and roving trucks. Gradually, political themes come to the surface. Through a portrait of this world, Charles Fairbanks and Saul Kak (a Zoque artist and activist) explore the cultural richness of minority communities and neoliberal pressure on Indigenous peoples and their lands, with clear parallels to the painful condition of refugees everywhere.

Synopsis: Pere and Mar leave their hometown with the intention of starting a free life in the Pyrenees. They find a job in the Vall d'Aran as a sheep shepherds and with the order to reduce the bear attacks on cattle. Isolated in their cabin, the couple witnesses, through news that they reach the phone , how the native population opposes the policies of re-introduction of the brown bear in the Pyrinees by the European Union. Meanwhile, the couple work to adapt to their new habitat and try to solve and old debt claim by a telephone bill.

Durante todo el día, ella, su mamá y su abuela se la pasan esperando en el hospital para tratar de ver a José, sin embargo, desde un comienzo, Lily experimenta diversas situaciones que la hacen cuestionarse acerca de lo que significa morir. La plática que no debió haber escuchado de su abuela acerca de un cadáver, una mosca muerta en la pequeña capilla del hospital y, sobre todo, el encuentro con su papá enfermo, despiertan sus dudas de la muerte. Así, finalmente se prepara para lo que ella presiente que va a pasar, pero no termina por saber: la muerte de su papá.

Synopsis: Lily wakes up by ambulance lights that hit her directly in the eyes, and when she looks out her door, she realizes that her father, José, is on a hospital stretcher. Throughout the day, she, her mother and grandmother spend their time waiting in the hospital to try to see José, however, from the beginning, Lily experiences various situations that make her wonder about what it means to die. The talk she should not have heard from her grandmother about a corpse, a dead fly in the small hospital chapel and, above all, the meeting with his sick father, arouse her doubts of death. Loyola, para cumplir el último deseo de su amigo, decide junto a sus compañeros de oficina montar un OVNI falso y así darle a Astudillo una muerte feliz. Tras días de preparación y a escondidas del jefe, quién no está de acuerdo con el plan porque podría poner en juego la reputación de la oficina, Loyola y sus colegas logran disfrazar un drone y hacerle vivir a Astudillo una experiencia de otro planeta. Sin embargo, en medio del montaje, Astudillo tiene un ataque al corazón que produce su muerte. Tras la partida de su amigo, Loyola cae en la cuenta de que pudo hacerlo feliz y de que la verdad siempre será algo subjetivo y relativo.

Synopsis: Loyola and Astudillo are two employees of an office that analyzes UFO sightings cases, from cellphones bad quality videos to neighborhood gossip. Loyola is tired of his routine work and the fake material he has to deal with, but Astudillo, despite his age, keeps the same enthusiasm of the first day, keeping the dream of actually seeing a real UFO by himself. One day, Astudillo is diagnosed with terminal cancer. Loyola, to fulfill his friend's last wish, decides with some office colleagues to build a fake UFO and give Astudillo a happy death. After days of preparation and hiding from the boss, who doesn't agree with the plan because it puts the reputation of the office in risk, Loyola and his colleagues are able to costumize a drone as a UFO and make Astudillo live an experience from another planet. However, in the middle of the act, Astudillo has a heart attack and dies. After the departure of his friend, Loyola realizes that making him happy was worth the risk, and the truth will always be something subjective and relative.

Despite the injustices witnessed by Carmen in the camp, she must concentrate on finishing her job as fast as she can in order to get back home and take care of her sick mother. Nevertheless, while doing her work, Carmen finds out that her brother Julian has been taken as a prisoner of this armed group and she must negotiate their freedom with the paramilitary commandant. That is the only way she can go home and join her family that night.

En Junio de 2017 mi papá decide dejar el hospital donde estuvo recluido varios meses en la ciudad de Medellín, y al cual realizó innumerables visitas por complicaciones asociadas a una enfermedad renal crónica. Luego de dejar el hospital vuelve a su casa en Remedios Antioquia, aun sabiendo que esto significaría la muerte, lo acompañó en su viaje a casa y me aseguro de registrar por medio de mi cámara cada instante como recurso propio para preservar su recuerdo. Los días entre su regreso a casa y su muerte son el tiempo que tenemos nosotros, su familia, para asimilar su partida. Una semana después de regresar a casa mi papá muere acompañado por toda su familia.

Synopsis: Father is a documentary that tells the last moments of the illness and later death of my father Julio César Méndez Tobón, related by me, Juan José Gallego Méndez. In June of 2017 my dad decides to leave the hospital where he was held for some months in the city of Medellín, and to which he made innumerable visits for complications associated with chronic kidney disease. After leaving the hospital he returns home to Remedios Antioquia, even knowing that this would mean death, accompany him on his trip home and record him as his own resource to preserve his memory. These days between his return home and his death are the time we have We, his family, to assimilate his departure, one week after returning home, my father dies accompanied by his entire family.

Synopsis: Ana, an african-colombian woman aged 42, lives with her teenage son, Carlos, in a popular neighborhood in the city of Cali. 10 years ago they were forced to leave their hometown because of the armed conflict. Present day, the violent nature of their neighborhood threatens to take Carlos’ life. Since the Government has shown itself incapable of assuring Carlos and Ana’s well-being, the mother decides to go back to the place where her husband and first son were killed years ago: Caloto. Her past, which she hopes has been left behind, comes back to her in the form of a town that hasn’t forgot who she is, and a society that will do anything to make sure the violence in her life never ceases.
